Description
The Government of Guyana has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), toward the cost of the Support for Educational Recovery and Transformation (5809/OC-GY) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
Abstract: Geotechnical and Topographical Survey of New School sites:
• Parakeese Primary School, Region 1
• Suddie Primary School, Region 2
• Cummings Lodge, Region 4
• Experiment Primary School, Region 5
• Chesney Primary School, Region 6
• Sand Hill Primary School, Region 10
The consulting services (“the Services”) include (i) Conduct a geotechnical site investigation inclusive of boreholes, laboratory testing and field surveys; (ii) Produce a Soils Investigation report summarizing the findings and recommendations of the geotechnical investigation and (iii) Use the report as the basis the necessary data needed for structural design, focusing on a proposed foundation design to determine code compliance and acceptability for each of the proposed sites. Additionally, the firm will conduct a topographical survey of the proposed site and establish a TBM for reference during construction. Ensure levels are above floor plan and provide recommendations if the land is suitable for its intended purpose. The estimated implementation period is Six (6) Weeks.
The Ministry of Education now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services.
Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications, experience and competence relevant to the assignment in no more than twenty-five (25) pages.
Consultants will be selected in accordance with the Selection Based on Consultants’ Qualification Method of Selection as defined in paragraph 3.8 and 3.9 of the Inter-American Development Bank: Policies for the Selection and Contracting of Consultants financed by the Inter-American Development Bank GN-2350-15 and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the policies.
Consultants may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture or a sub-consultancy to enhance their qualifications. For the purpose of establishing the short list, the nationality of a firm is that of the country in which it is legally incorporated or constituted and in the case of Joint Venture, the nationality of the firm appointed to represent it.
