Specialized Healthcare Dental Technical Laboratory Services

This tender concerns the continuation of specialized healthcare dental technical laboratory services for the wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland (Varsinais-Suomen hyvinvointialue). These services were transferred to the wellbeing services county in accordance with Section 4 of the Social and Healthcare Reform Implementation Act (616/2021). Previously, these contracts were coordinated by the Clinic of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Turku University Hospital (TYKS), under the auspices of the former Southwest Finland Hospital District (VSSHP).

The Clinic of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at TYKS provides services aligned with dental specialities for patient groups requiring specialized healthcare for diseases of the oral and maxillofacial region. This also includes patients with general health conditions necessitating oral healthcare within a hospital setting.

The intention is to extend the existing contracts from March 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027. This extension is necessary because the planned new procurement process is delayed, and new contracts cannot be established before the current agreement period concludes on February 28, 2026. Ensuring the availability of dental technical laboratory services is crucial until the new procurement is completed and the subsequent contracts come into effect. The scope of Lot 1 covers these specialized healthcare dental technical laboratory services.
