Expression of Interest (EOI) for Asbestos and hazardous materials management Services

Energy Queensland is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced Occupational Hygienist service providers to support the management of asbestos and hazardous materials across its portfolio of sites and assets. The successful provider will undertake asbestos surveys, inspections, assessments, risk evaluations, air monitoring, removal clearances and desktop reviews where appropriate and agreed. Providers will be responsible for delivering professional advice, exercising independent technical judgement, and maintaining accountability for all findings, risk ratings and recommendations associated with asbestos management activities. The appointed Hygienist will be required to undertake all activities necessary to complete assigned work packages, including sampling, air monitoring, engagement of NATA accredited laboratory analysis services, report preparation, delivery and publication. The provider must maintain all necessary licences, competencies, accreditations, insurances and relevant asbestos assessment qualifications. In addition, the successful respondent will be expected to provide guidance and recommendations to Energy Queensland regarding the safe and effective management of asbestos risks, while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, codes of practice, workplace health and safety requirements and Energy Queensland procedures. A key requirement of this engagement is the ability to work within an established digital asbestos management environment provided by Energy Queensland's Data Service Provider. The platform serves as the single source of truth for asbestos and hazardous materials information and supports surveys, inspections, re-inspections, clearances, reporting and asbestos register management. Respondents must demonstrate experience using online asbestos management systems and be capable of capturing, maintaining and updating accurate asbestos records through mobile and desktop applications. The Hygienist will be required to utilise the platform to access site information, manage work activities, update asbestos registers, generate documentation and provide relevant asbestos information to personnel who require access to current site-based asbestos data. The intent of this EOI is to test the market and identify capable Asbestos Auditing Program service providers willing to participate in a Request For Tender (RFT) via SAP Ariba.
