Description
Vegetation fuel loads have increased in proximity to the 70 cottage lot subdivision located in Winagami Provincial Park (PP). Parks Division is looking at decreasing the fuel load at identified locations around the cottage leases, and along the access route in and out of the cottage subdivision.
Project Objective: To use FireSmart protocols to decrease vegetation fuel load at identified areas around the cottage lot subdivision, powerline right of way (ROW) and along the sole road access to the cottage lots that travels through the Provincial Park.
Refer to RFQ document for additional information and the detailed scope of work.
Additional Requirements:
1. Contractor must have a valid COR or SECOR certification.
2. As there is an above ground powerline within 7 meters of the work area:
-- all workers (equipment operators, tree workers, etc.) working within the 7 meters of an above ground power line must be under the direct supervision of a crew member with a valid Utility Tree Worker (UTW) or Utility Tree Trimmer (UTT) certification.
PRE-BID MEETING:
Due to existing site conditions it is mandatory that all contractors attend an onsite pre-bid meeting at Winagami Lake Provincial Park. Meeting date, time and location will be sent to registered bidders.
Please RSVP Alec Ogden at fp.parksnwcapital@gov.ab.ca if you will be attending. If no attendance confirmations are received by January 5, 2026 at 3:00:59, the pre-bid meeting will be cancelled.
