Funding the Future: Unlocking Potential at Kilmartin Museum
A Museums Galleries Scotland Funded Project
Project Background
Kilmartin Museum is reliant on ticket sales for 89% of general income with the rest being made up from grants, service level agreements and donations. Argyllâs tourist economy is fragile and reliance on ticket sales is creating financial challenges. There is a need to diversify income streams and unlock the potential that exists especially for philanthropic donations. Staff and trustee changes have left KM without team members who have fundraising skills.
Project Summary
Building on other strategic work, this project seeks to remove barriers and unlock the potential for fundraising and individual donations to achieve an alternative long term sustainability model.
