Description

The Western Development Museum (WDM) Grain Elevator Repairs project aims to enhance the experience in visiting our Heritage Village at the North Battleford location at Highways 16 & 40 North Battleford, SK. These repairs will continue to ensure the historic integrity of one of our key artifact buildings, ensuring the safety of the structure and safety for visitors and staff.Scope includes:• Site assessment and verification• Demolition and removal of deteriorated siding, windows, trim, fascia, and related materials• Structural and concealed damage repairs as approved by WDM staff• Possible installation of weather-resistant barrier pending curatorial approval• Installation of new clapboard siding• Installation of replacement trim and fascia• Flashing and weatherproofing• Full exterior finishing using solid color stain• Public safety measures, debris containment, and daily cleanup• Provision of all lifts, scaffolding, and access equipment by contractor• Final cleanup and inspectionThe Heritage Village will remain open to the public during the project. Contractors must provide barricades, maintain debris containment, perform magnetic sweeps for fasteners, and ensure visitor routes remain unobstructed.
