Lot 4 – Heat accumulator

This tender concerns Lot 4, specifically the supply and installation of a heat storage system. Gothaer Stadtwerke ENERGIE GmbH intends to erect a large-scale atmospheric heat storage system to optimize the operation of their combined heat and power (CHP) plants at the Gotha West power plant site. The heat storage unit will have a capacity of 60 MWh and a volume of approximately 2,600 m³, resulting in a diameter of about 13m and a maximum height of approximately 23m. This lot includes the storage tank and its periphery, such as the steam cushioning system, initial shut-off, emptying/venting, measurement technology, insulation, and a stair tower. The construction phase is planned from March 2026 to August 2027. This lot is part of a larger procurement divided into six lots, covering civil engineering, foundation work, and the heat storage system itself.
