Specific considerations for this assignment, if any, are discussed here: The main scope of the assignment for the Consultant (Package No. CS-10) is to conduct a market assessment and agribusiness investment planning study for 10 commodities across 12 representative subprojects in Bangladesh's Barind, Haor, and Coastal regions. The Consultant will analyze market demand, value chains, production systems, post-harvest management, mechanization, and institutional capacity of WMCAs, and identify and prioritize commercially viable investment opportunities. Apart from core value chain and market system study of the selected 10 commodities, the scope also includes preparing SP WMCA-specific Agribusiness Business Plans with financial analysis, implementation arrangements, and risk assessment, along with recommendations to strengthen market linkages and promote gender equality. The team will be led by a Market Systems Development Specialist/Team Leader and supported by experts in agronomy, aquaculture, mechanization, institutional development, and gender, with the assignment lasting 6 calendar months.
