Wideband Frequency Multipliers for Continuous Measurement of RF Semiconductor Devices Adapted for VNA Measurement Units

The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) is seeking to acquire wideband frequency multipliers. These multipliers are intended for use with Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) and Vector Voltmeter (VMU) measurement units. The primary purpose is the characterization of Radio Frequency (RF) semiconductor devices. The equipment must cover a continuous frequency range from a few MHz up to approximately 250–300 GHz, enabling small-signal characterization. These devices will be deployed in EPFL's POWERlab within the Institute of Microengineering and Electrical Engineering (IEM). The acquisition is driven by cutting-edge research needs in millimeter-wave and sub-THz devices, as well as monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs). The POWERlab's scientific objectives focus on high-frequency and high-power devices for next-generation communication applications. The frequency multipliers will be instrumental in enabling advanced research and development in these critical technological areas, pushing the boundaries of semiconductor performance for future communication systems.
