Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) prequalified contractors, consultants for engineering projects and industry partners are invited to attend a Market Sounding and Information Share for the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) for projects within Far North district (FND). FND is home to approximately 280,000+ people and covers an area of about 273,158 square kilometres, or around 15% of Queensland. Centred around the city of Cairns, extending from the Torres Strait Islands in the north to the top of the Cardwell Range in the south, and from Cairns in the east to Croydon in the west. Our district is home to World Heritage Sites including the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics of Queensland and is home to the two oldest continuous cultures on the planet, the Aboriginal Australians and the Torres Strait Islanders and as such, is the only district in Queensland to work within both the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act (2003) and the Torres Strait Islander Cu...
