Doormiddel van het uitvoeren deze continue repeterende beeldkwaliteitsmetingen wordt inzicht verkregen in de schoonheidsgraad van de openbare ruimte van Amsterdam. Met dit inzicht kan worden bijgestuurd waar nodig. De metingen maken het mogelijk om te beoordelen of de openbare ruimte voldoet aan de gestelde kwaliteitsnormen. Door regelmatig de kwaliteit te controleren kan de gemeente proactief inspelen op een mogelijke verslechtering. Op deze wijze kan snel worden geschakeld en kan sneller worden ingegrepen bij een achteruitgang van de kwaliteit.
