Beschrijving Programma Metronet
Metronet is een strategisch investerings- en ontwikkelprogramma voor het metronetwerk in de Metropoolregio Rotterdam Den Haag, geleid door de Metropoolregio Rotterdam Den Haag (MRDH) in samenwerking met de RET. Doel van het programma is om het metronet toekomstbestendig te maken door:
• Programma Nieuwe Voertuigen - Vernieuwing en uitbreiding van metrovoertuigen, inclusief aanschaf van extra metrostellen om hogere frequenties en groeiende reizigersaantallen op te vangen.
• Programma Capaciteit Verhogen - Modernisering van infrastructuur, zoals de metrowerkplaats in Waalhaven, om onderhoud en capaciteit van nieuwe en bestaande voertuigen te ondersteunen.
• Programma Vernieuwen Waalhaven - De Werkplaats Waalhaven wordt grondig uitgebreid en gemoderniseerd als onderdeel van het programma Metronet. De bestaande werkplaats, die sinds 1974 in gebruik is en momenteel het onderhoud van de metrovoertuigen van RET verzorgt, is niet meer toereikend voor de toekomstige capaciteit en techniek van de nieuwe voertuigen.
Programma Metronet richt zich op de periode tot circa 2030–2033 en draagt bij aan de bereikbaarheid, capaciteit en kwaliteit van het openbaar vervoer in de regio te midden van groeiende bevolkingsaantallen en mobiliteitsvraag.
Als onderdeel van Metronet, Programma Capaciteit Verhogen, wordt ook het emplacement op de Waalhaven vernieuwd en uitgebreid.
De afdeling Strategische Projecten en Programma’s is de behoeftesteller in onderhavige opdracht. Zij is verantwoordelijk voor het Projectmanagement voor deze uitvraag.
