Brief Description of Requirement
DSIT's Advanced Materials team are seeking to commission a report on international benchmarking for the advanced materials technology family, to provide insights into emerging advanced materials domains where international research and innovation collaboration could unlock strategic opportunities and help to position the UK as a global hub for materials innovation. The project will inform DSIT development of the National Materials Innovation Programme announced in the Modern Industrial Strategy, where Advanced Materials was named as a priority frontier industry. The primary output of this work is a comprehensive research report that will benchmark the UK's advanced materials sector against leading international peers, such as Germany, Spain, Australia, Netherlands and Canada. Benchmarking should be conducted against the following identifiable criteria; best practices, policy levers, innovation strengths and gaps, thereby informing UK policy on how to increase the UKs global competitiveness in advanced materials..
