Description

Agency: UNDP | Reference: UNDP-ZMB-00617 | Type: Request for proposal UNDP Zambia seeks the services of an Individual Contractor (IC) to support the drafting of the Zambia’s Socio-Economic Response Plan to the Middle East Conflict. The military escalation in the Middle East since February 2026 has generated significant global macroeconomic disruptions, particularly across energy and supply chains. Disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, coupled with surging global oil prices, contributed to a 46.19% increase in diesel prices in Zambia between March and May 2026. The sharp rise in domestic fuel costs has placed considerable pressure on households, businesses and public finances.Against this backdrop, UNDP is supporting the Government of the Republic of Zambia in the development of a Socio-Economic Response Plan (SERP) to address the spillover effects of the conflict in the Middle East. UNDP is therefore seeking to engage a National Consultant to draft the SERP.Please indicate whether you intend to submit a bid by creating a draft response without submitting directly in the system.
