Description
Agency: ILO | Reference: rfx_6590_ROAS | Type: Request for quotation
The International Labor Organization (ILO) maintains a long-standing partnership with the Government of Jordan and the social partners to support decent work and inclusive economic development.
This partnership is currently anchored in the Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) 2025–2027, recently signed by the Ministry of Labour, the General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions, the Jordan Chamber of Industry and the ILO.
The DWCP is built around three national priorities, including inclusive green growth and decent work, under which the strengthening of enterprise competitiveness, export readiness and responsible business conduct features prominently.
Within this broader framework, the ILO is implementing the project “Promoting Decent Work and Export Competitiveness in Jordan”, funded by the European Union, in cooperation with national institutions and the social partners.
The project is intended to support national efforts to enhance the export performance of the Jordanian manufacturing sector, including under preferential trade arrangements such as the Rules of Origin (RoO) scheme with the European Union, while contributing to economic growth, employment generation, and improved working conditions for all workers.
Jordan’s manufacturing sector represents an important driver of economic activity and employment, with significant potential to expand its presence in regional and international markets.
Realizing these potential calls for coherent and well-coordinated support across national institutions, employers’ and workers’ organizations, business membership organizations, and the development partners that work alongside them.
A substantial body of analytical work has been produced on this agenda over the past.
