Setting Up Containerized Office Infrastructures at 7 Immigration Border Posts

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has received financing from the World Bank under the Southern Africa Trade and Connectivity Project (SATCP) towards the projects: " Supporting the Government of Malawi in Strengthening Migration Management through the Expansion of the Migration Information and Data Analysis System (MIDAS)" and "Facilitating Cross Border Mobility and Small-Scale Cross Border Trade through Implementing a Border Pass System along Mozambique/ Malawi Borders", and intends to apply part of the proceeds for contracting services. The contracting services ("the Services") include the supply, transportation, installation, customization, and commissioning of containerized office infrastructure at Seven (7) border posts in Malawi, namely Biriwiri, Chiponde, Hewe, Katuli, Mqocha, Namizana, and Nkhatabay. Each border post will require a minimum of three (3) 40-foot containers configured to accommodate immigration processing offices, server/ power room, holding rooms, waiting area, sanitary facilities, and related operational spaces. to run from May to July 2026. The assignment will cover preparation of site in alignment with the proposed building layout designs and technical drawings, structural modifications of containers, electrical fittings and local area network (LAN) cabling, installation of temperature control systems, doors and windows, and connection to available utilities (power, and water).
