SmartLogisticNetwork- VE 04 Shell construction VZ-Apotel

1. Overall Measure The University Hospital Bonn (UKB) is planning the introduction of a future-oriented logistics concept entitled "SmartLogisticNetwork". This project is a central component of the strategic reorientation of internal supply and disposal on the Venusberg campus. The aim is to establish an efficient, automated, and sustainable logistics system for the long-term supply of existing and new hospital buildings, particularly the heart center currently under construction and other facilities in the north and south of the campus. The SmartLogisticNetwork consists of the following sub-projects: an underground logistics tunnel for automated connection of central supply points, several connection structures for vertical and horizontal access to the buildings, a driverless transport system (FTS) for automated goods distribution, a new logistics center, and a modern waste management center. 2. Project Structure and Planning Status. The supply of the heart center is currently in service phases 4-8 of HOAI. The southern connection is in the design phase (LPH 1-3 incl. HU-Bau). The measure will be implemented in two construction phases to ensure rapid commissioning of the FTS system for the supply of the heart center and the northern clinic areas. The focus of the planning is on the building services equipment of the logistics center and the waste management center, as well as their structural connection to the tunnel system and adjacent existing buildings. The internal technical standards of the UKB apply, particularly with regard to automation, hygiene, occupational safety, and energy efficiency. 3. Logistics Tunnel and Connection Structures The underground logistics tunnel will be constructed using the open construction method. Comprehensive site clearance is required for implementation, especially in the area of the tunnel, the corner and connection structures, and the logistics and waste management center. Existing underground supply lines have been recorded in the planning and must be relocated. Existing traffic routes must be diverted. A central component is the connection structure for the supply center / pharmacy (Apotel), which will be constructed both underground and above ground. This includes the connections to the tunnel at the 2nd basement level, the connections to the two existing buildings on the ground floor, and structural adjustments within the existing buildings for the handover and forwarding of transport goods. 4. Driverless Transport System (FTS) The FTS forms the backbone of the SmartLogisticNetwork. It will be used throughout the tunnel and is networked with the connected buildings via automated transfer points. Conceptual planning and coordination were carried out by the FC Group. The driverless transport vehicles will be designed as under-runners, which will lift conventional transport carts and transport them across the site to their destination. The system's control center will be located in the planned logistics center. The vehicles move on predefined, programmed routes and communicate autonomously with door controls and elevators. Starting from the logistics center, the system serves the central sterilization (Building 45), the supply center (Building 50), the pharmacy (Building 53), the new heart center (Building 25), the bed wing 1 (Building 24), surgery (Building 23), the operative center (Building 22), and Buildings 20, 3, and 4. Pharmacy products, medical products, laundry, food, sterile goods, and waste will be transported via the FTS. Beyond the tunnel system, the driverless transport vehicles will move to the building floors, horizontally along the building corridors, and vertically via the existing elevator systems. The connection of further clinic buildings - especially in the southern part of the campus - has already been taken into account in the planning phase. 5. Technical Infrastructure To ensure safe and efficient operation, the automation stations will be equipped with BACnet interfaces in accordance with AMEV recommendations. Comprehensive WLAN coverage within the tunnel is planned to ensure the smooth operation of the FTS system. 6. Sub-projects The overall project is divided as follows: - Sub-project 1: Logistics tunnel with connection structures and AWT system - Sub-project 2: Logistics center with waste management center - Special items (including pipe laying) Each sub-project is divided into several sub-areas. Implementation will take place in several phases. As part of a Europe-wide open tender, services for the shell construction of the VZ-Apotel connection structure are to be commissioned.
