The Workplace Challenge (WPC) Programme, Productivity SA’s flagship programme supports efforts to promote long term industrialisation and transformation to achieve a productive income economy which is globally competitive and improve the competitiveness and sustainability of enterprises within the priority productive sectors of the economy (in support of the Sector Master Plans) to preserve current jobs and to create productive and decent employment.

It is funded by the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) since 1998 and is administered and managed by Productivity SA.
1.3
WPC aims to: improve the productivity and competitiveness of enterprises through improved value chain efficiencies; implementation of clusters for industrial competitiveness, collaborative relations, continuous improvement; and establishment of model companies to disseminate processes and lessons.

Objectives of the WPC Electronic Newsletter
2.1
Provides programme performance to shareholders, stakeholders, current clients, potential clients, the media and the community.
2.2
Highlight strategic milestones for the year.
2.3
Providing updates for upcoming projects/events.
2.4
Popularise the work done by the WPC Programme as well as marketing the competencies attained by the clients.

Serves as a marketing tool to promote both Productivity SA and the dtic.

Contributes to achieving objective 6 of the programme that relates to Marketing and Dissemination – which is intended to explore and document best practices
