Invitation for Pre-qualification

For

The Minting andSupply of Coins.

  1. This invitation for prequalification follows the General Procurement Notice for this procurement that appeared on various newspapers dated 24th July, 2012.
  1. Pre-qualification will be conducted through the procedures specifiedin Regulation 15 of the Public Procurement (Goods, Works, Non-Consultant Services and Disposal of Public Assets by Tender) Regulations– Government Notice 97 of 2005, and is open to all firms.
  1. The Bank of Tanzania during the Financial Year 2012/2013 has set aside funds for the Minting and Supply of Coins. Bank of Tanzania is now issuing Pre-qualification Notice in accordance with the requirements of the Public Procurement Act 2004 and Regulations 2005. It is expected that invitations to bid will be made in January,2012
  1. Eligible vendors are invited to apply for pre-qualification for Minting and Supply of Coins; AND must meet the following qualification criteria;

i.The applicant firm shall be a registered legal entity with evidence of owning mint facilities.

ii. The applicant firmshall provide evidence of ownership of minting equipment and capacityof its production line and the number and names of key technical and administrative personnel.

iii.The applicant firm shall provide evidence of satisfactorily minting and supplying coins to a numberof countries in the last 5 years.

iv.The applicant firm shall have a sound financial position, Supported by;

Ā·The last five years' audited annual financial statements.

Ā·Name & address of the bankers,

v.The applicant firm shall provide information on current litigation in which the firm is involved, if any

Interested applicants are advised to obtain further information from andinspect the pre-qualification documents at the office of the Secretary, Bank of Tanzania Central Tender Board,10 Mirambo Street, 5th Floor, South Tower from 8.30 am-4.30 pm on Monday to Friday except on public holidays before the deadline for the submission of applications.
  1. A complete set of pre-qualification documents in English may be collected atNO FEE by interested applicants and voluntarily formed joint ventures on the submission of a written application to the address below
  1. Interested applicants are free to request a prequalification document through Bank of Tanzania, Procurement Department email addresses provided below and the same will be forwarded through your email.
  1. Applications for pre-qualification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address given below by Wednesday 21st November 2012 at or before 11.00 hrs and be clearly marked "PRE-QUALIFICATION FOR THE MINTING AND SUPPLY OF COINS"
  1. Electronic applications are allowed, however late applications, incomplete applications, and applications notreceived shall not be considered for short listing irrespective of any circumstance.
