Om de operationele slagkracht van de ILT te versterken, wordt de inkoop van tolkdiensten gecentraliseerd bij één gecontracteerde partij. Medewerkers van de ILT komen tijdens hun taakuitvoering regelmatig in contact met anderstalige partijen, waarbij accurate communicatie cruciaal is voor een rechtmatige handhaving. De huidige overeenkomst voor tolkdiensten verloopt van rechtswege per 31 december 2026. Dit beschrijvend document legt de basis voor een eenduidige marktbenadering, waarmee de ILT één betrouwbare partner selecteert voor alle ad hoc en geplande tolkbehoeften vanaf 1 januari 2027.
