Investigations into the distribution of habitat types according to Annex I of the Habitats Directive and legally protected biotopes in the Mansfeld-Südharz district outside the Natura 2000 area network

4.1. Methodological Notes The mapping of habitat types will be carried out according to the methodological guidelines of the Habitat Type Mapping Manual (KA LRT) of the LAU, Openland part (as of 2010) and Forest part (as of 2014). For the recording of legally protected biotopes, the Saxony-Anhalt Biotope Type Guideline (as of 2020) must be applied. Biotopes not listed in the Biotope Type Guideline, which were only included in the BNatSchG after its publication, must also be recorded. For mapping, the optimal mapping period and the number of site visits (single, double) mentioned in the KA LRT must be observed. The traceability of the classification as an LRT according to the Habitats Directive and its assessment must be ensured by recording the plant species present, with particular consideration given to characteristic species. A detailed description must be prepared for all recorded areas. It should enable third parties to understand the LRT or GGB classification based on the current characteristics of the individual area and to distinguish actual changes from individual deviations in the application of the mapping and assessment key during repeat mappings. Furthermore, area-specific management recommendations must be provided. Vegetation surveys are not to be carried out. The identification of syntaxonomic units is to be based on the encountered plant species inventory, as far as possible. LRT occurrences and biotopes are to be recorded as individual areas as far as possible. Different conservation statuses and expressions are to be recorded separately. Multipart objects should be avoided. Linear structures are to be represented as areas from a width of 10 m; narrower recording units can be represented as line shapes. The cartographic basis for the mapping is the georeferenced aerial photographs of the LVermGeo from the most current flight. The area extent of the LRT occurrences must be adapted to the valid boundaries of the FFH areas. Furthermore, boundary adjustments must be made for LRTs not to be processed in this contract. Coordination with the contracting authority will take place for this purpose. The factual data documentation is to be carried out on the group-specific survey sheets. It should be noted that the criteria required for assessing the conservation status are to be documented. The condition of the areas must be documented photographically (at least 1 meaningful photo per area/sheet). In cases where one or more secondary codes are recorded for an area, area sizes must be specified for the main and secondary codes. New objects are to be numbered consecutively so that no duplicates occur within the FFH area or a DTK10. Orchards: If an LRT is identified as undergrowth in an orchard and both codes have the same area size, the area is to be recorded as LRT (main code). The code for the orchard (HSA, HSB, HSC, HSD, HSE, HSF) should be entered as a secondary code without an area size. Grassland LRT: For grassland LRTs 6440 and 6510, it must be decided whether it is a poor variant. Methodological guidelines for their classification are on the LRT-specific supplementary sheet. The results are to be documented on survey sheets and in the BioLRT database system and summarized in a short report. The areas will be digitized using a suitable GIS program. 4.1.1 Initial recording of previously unknown LRT occurrences A complete recording of LRTs in the commissioned area is aimed for. The area must therefore be surveyed in a suitable manner to find previously unknown LRT occurrences. The results of the surveys must be described in the text. The LRT occurrences must be fully recorded according to the specifications of the KA LRT and the LRT-specific supplementary sheet must be completed.
