Description

The Village of Donalda is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for the removal and replacement of the existing sidewalk along North Main Street in Donalda, Alberta. The project generally consists of: Removal and disposal of existing deteriorated concrete and asphalt sidewalk; Excavation and preparation of base materials; Installation of approximately 540 linear feet of new 6-foot-wide concrete sidewalk; Traffic and pedestrian accommodation; Site restoration and cleanup. The successful contractor will be responsible for providing all labour, equipment, materials, supervision, traffic control, disposal, restoration, and related services necessary to complete the work. The Village has established an estimated project budget of approximately $100,000 plus GST. Construction is anticipated to occur during the 2026 summer/fall construction season, with substantial completion targeted for September 15, 2026 and final completion by September 30, 2026. Respondents are encouraged to review all solicitation documents carefully, including: Part 2 – Project Scope and Requirements; Section 6 – Scope of Work; Section 8 – Mandatory Submission Requirements; Appendix A – Submission Form; and Appendix B – Procurement Declarations. Proposals must include company qualifications, methodology, project schedule, pricing breakdown, references for similar municipal projects, WCB clearance, insurance documentation, and safety program information. Submission Deadline: June 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM MST. Proposals may be submitted electronically in PDF format or by hard copy as outlined in the solicitation document. The Village reserves the right to accept the proposal deemed most advantageous to the Village and is not obligated to accept the lowest-priced submission. Additional Requirements: Respondents must provide a valid WCB Clearance Letter, proof of Commercial General Liability Insurance of not less than $2,000,000, and Automobile Liability Insurance. The successful contractor shall name the Village of Donalda as an additional insured. Safety Program documentation (COR or SECOR preferred) must be included with submissions. Contractors are responsible for obtaining all required utility locates and complying with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety requirements and Alberta Traffic Accommodation in Work Zones (TAWZ) standards. Respondents are encouraged to visit the project site prior to submission. Proposals must remain valid for sixty (60) days following the submission deadline. The Village reserves the right to accept the proposal deemed most advantageous to the Village and is not obligated to accept the lowest-priced submission.
