Aninver Development Partners SL is currently preparing a competitive proposal for an upcoming consulting assignment funded by the United Nations Secretariat in Cambodia. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Local Facilitator to join our multidisciplinary team on the ground. This role is pivotal for ensuring smooth coordination, stakeholder engagement, and logistical support across the country.

The successful candidate will work closely with international experts and local partners to facilitate consultations, workshops, and field activities. This is an exciting opportunity for a local professional with deep contextual understanding to contribute to a high-profile international development initiative in Cambodia.

Aninver is preparing a proposal for this assignment. The selected expert will be part of the proposed team; the engagement is conditional on the contract being awarded to Aninver. The full Terms of Reference for the position are shared with shortlisted candidates.

Objectives of the assignment

• Support the successful planning and execution of project activities in Cambodia
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with local stakeholders and institutions
• Facilitate effective communication and coordination between international experts and local counterparts
• Ensure activities align with local regulatory frameworks and cultural contexts

Scope of work

• Organize and facilitate stakeholder consultations, meetings, and workshops
• Assist with logistical arrangements for field missions and events
• Gather relevant local data and background information as required by the team
• Translate and interpret documents or discussions between English and local languages when necessary
• Support reporting and documentation of field activities and stakeholder feedback

Your role as Local Facilitator - Cambodia

• Act as the primary liaison between the consulting team and local stakeholders in Cambodia
• Coordinate schedules, meetings, and consultations with relevant local authorities and partners
• Provide logistical and administrative support for in-country workshops and missions
• Support the adaptation of project methodologies to the local context
• Draft summary reports and notes from stakeholder engagements and field visits
• Identify potential risks or operational bottlenecks at the local level and propose solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in social sciences, international development, business administration, or a related field
• Demonstrated professional experience working as a facilitator, coordinator, or liaison in Cambodia
• Strong understanding of the local socio-economic and institutional context
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills
• Fluency in English and Khmer, both written and spoken
• Ability to work independently and as part of an international consulting team
• National of, or based in, the project country

Desirable

• Previous experience working with United Nations agencies or international organizations
• Experience supporting donor-funded technical assistance projects in Cambodia

An experienced local facilitator and coordinator based in Cambodia with a strong network, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of supporting international consulting teams.
