Aninver Development Partners is preparing a consulting proposal for an important municipal assignment in Spain focusing on engineering, urban planning, and environmental management. We are seeking an expert in Environment and Ecology to join our multidisciplinary team for this strategic initiative.

The assignment aims to develop an updated and integrated territorial and urban strategic framework for a major municipality in Spain. The selected expert will play a critical role in incorporating environmental criteria, climate resilience, and spatial analysis into the overarching planning instruments.

Aninver is preparing a proposal for this assignment. The selected expert will be part of the proposed team; the engagement is conditional on the contract being awarded to Aninver. The full Terms of Reference for the position are shared with shortlisted candidates.

Objectives of the assignment

• Contribute to the elaboration of an updated and integrated strategic territorial plan for the municipality.
• Incorporate environmental and ecological criteria into the municipal planning and zoning framework.
• Ensure coherence with existing sector plans regarding climate resilience, landscape, and sustainability.
• Support the integration of spatial data and environmental diagnostics into a unified GIS system.
• Facilitate data-driven decision-making through advanced environmental analysis and multicriteria assessment.

Scope of work

• Conduct initial environmental diagnostics and review existing sectoral regulations in Spain.
• Integrate environmental data into the comprehensive SWOT analysis and strategic territorial diagnostic.
• Contribute to the formulation of future territorial scenarios and the strategic territorial model.
• Develop prioritized action plans incorporating environmental and climate resilience measures.
• Establish monitoring indicators and governance structures relating to environmental sustainability.
• Support cross-cutting tasks including stakeholder engagement and institutional consultation.
• Manage environmental cartography and geographic information systems (GIS) for the project.

Your role as Medioambiente y Ecología

• Lead the environment and ecology inputs for the strategic territorial plan.
• Perform urban and environmental planning tasks aligned with local regulatory frameworks.
• Manage and update spatial databases using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Collaborate with engineering, mobility, and urban planning specialists to ensure ecological integration.
• Participate in technical workshops, stakeholder consultations, and institutional meetings.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, thematic maps, and environmental indicators.
• Support the prioritization of actions using structured multicriteria evaluation methods.

Requirements

• Education: Geógrafo/a, Biólogo/a o Técnico/a en Medioambiente
• 3 years of experience in urban and environmental planning with GIS management
• Languages: Spanish

Desirable

• Previous experience working on municipal or regional territorial plans in Spain.
• Familiarity with climate resilience and sustainability frameworks in urban contexts.

A proactive environmental professional with a strong background in spatial planning and GIS management, eager to contribute to sustainable urban development in Spain.
