Aberdeenshire Council currently operates a Real-Time Passenger Information (RTPI) service comprising digital display hardware, timetable management software, and real-time data services delivered through a combination of suppliers.
To support improved flexibility, accountability and value for money, the Council intends to procure replacement services through a multi-lot procurement structure.

To support improved flexibility, accountability and value for money, the Council intends to procure replacement services through a multi-lot procurement structure. This structure reflects the distinct functional components required to deliver a complete RTPI service and allows suppliers to bid for one or more Lots.
The Lots are defined as:
- Lot 1 – Digital Display Hardware, Content Management System (CMS) and Associated Services;
- Lot 2 – RTPI Platform, Data Management and System Integration;
- Lot 3 – Timetable Generation and Roadside Publicity Software.
Each Lot represents a discrete system component required to deliver the overall RTPI service. Where multiple Lots are awarded to different Suppliers, those Suppliers will be required to ensure that their respective systems and services support the ingestion, processing and output of data in industry-standard public transport formats.
