We are looking for three Field Team Leaders, one each from High Stability, Medium-Risk/Shifting Frontiers, and High-Risk areas in Sudan.
Tier 1 (High-Stability Locations)
Core Responsibilities
Rapid Recruitment Acceleration:
Leverage extensive displaced academic and professional networks in River Nile State to screen and select highly qualified female enumerators within a compressed 1–2-week timeframe.
Standardized Digital Onboarding:
Conduct formal, 4-day classroom-style technical training on KoboToolbox data entry, skip-logic, and rigorous data protection protocols.
High-Volume Quality Assurance:
Manage a fast-paced, standard field deployment. Oversee daily digital submissions to ensure maximum data quality, validation checking, and immediate cloud sync.
Administrative Compliance:
Execute formal contracting and process direct mobile bank app payments (
Bankak
/
Fauwri
) immediately upon automated milestone completion.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of experience leading field research or census-style projects in stable contexts.
Advanced proficiency in data-entry supervision, remote MEAL dashboard management, and formal institutional compliance.
Extensive connection to local civil society or displaced academic networks in River Nile State.
Tier 2 (Medium-Risk / Shifting Frontlines)
Core Responsibilities
Under-the-Radar Screening:
Coordinate quietly through local Emergency Response Rooms (ERRs) and mutual aid networks to identify and screen female enumerators who are
strictly native
to the exact targeted neighborhoods.
Decentralized Training Batches:
Structure and execute small, localized neighborhood training hubs to eliminate large group footprints that might draw suspicion from armed factions.
Digital & Checkpoint Security Enforcement:
Train and strictly enforce absolute phone hygiene protocols (zero local data remnants, automated delete-on-upload Kobo loops) and navigate active checkpoint interactions securely.
Micro-Transit Management:
Coordinate zero-travel deployments, ensuring female enumerators step directly out of their homes into their immediate neighborhood zones to collect data without cross-locality travel risks.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of field experience in conflict-affected or active frontline settings in Sudan.
Proven expertise in humanitarian negotiation, conflict-sensitive programming (Do No Harm), and local security tracking.
High fluency in local neighborhood dynamics and strong, trusted connections with localized ERRs in Sennar State.
Tier 3 (High-Risk / Low-Literacy)
Core Responsibilities
Traditional Native Negotiations:
Manage extensive, patient face-to-face entry negotiations through the
Idara Ahliya
(Native Administration), camp elders, and traditional women's leaders to gain deep community trust and safely source female team members.
Icon & Audio-Assisted Training:
Execute an extended 10–12 day practical training track utilizing icon-based and local-dialect audio-embedded Kobo forms, adapting to low-literacy baselines through spatial memory simulations. Ability to hire female field enumerators.
Hybrid Team Pairing Logistics:
Implement and oversee the
Hybrid Pairing Model
—pairing a trusted local community insider (for entry and trust) with a literate displaced partner (for precise device input).
Off-Grid Payment & Data Protocols:
Coordinate physical, pre-funded cash payouts through vetted local networks. Manage completely offline, encrypted data collection workflows, safeguarding information locally on devices until safe sync zones are reached.
Protection & Companion Logistics:
Manage the tracking and budgeting for cultural
Mahram
travel companions and secure "window-of-opportunity" deployments based on daily localized security briefs.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of operational field leadership in Darfur or the Kordofan regions during acute crises.
Deep experience working in low-literacy environments, using visual/audio tools, or executing community-health-volunteer programs.
Native command of regional oral dialects and a flawless reputation with traditional tribal elders (
Idara Ahliya
) in the target states.
