Description
The Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana (GCRG) has received financing from The World Bank toward the cost of the Integrated Transport Corridors Project (ITCP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Improvement (Rehabilitation and Upgrade) of the Selected Regional Road Corridor -Reconstruction of Existing Road Network on the East Coast Demerara – Lot 2: Design and Build Bridges: Across the Mahaica, Mahaicony and Abary Rivers/Creeks.
The Ministry of Public Works intends to initially select Applicants for the Improvement (Rehabilitation and Upgrade) of the Selected Regional Road Corridor -Reconstruction of Existing Road Network on the East Coast Demerara – Lot 2: Design and Build Bridges: Across the Mahaica, Mahaicony and Abary Rivers/Creeks.
The Works to be provided, including, but are not limited to, supplying all design plans/drawings, documentation, equipment, materials, labour, and incidentals necessary to successfully complete the project in compliance with the contract provisions.
Detailed Employer's Requirements are provided in a separate document, which includes comprehensive technical specifications for:
Bridge design, structural, geotechnical, and foundation requirements
Hydrological and hydraulic design
Survey requirements
Environmental and Social (ES) management
Health and Safety obligations
HIV/AIDS alleviation campaign
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
Product warranties
Permanent signing, pavement markings, and safety facilities
Landscaping and grassing
Utility relocation requirements
Contractor's facilities and site office requirements
CONTRACT DURATION
The Contractor shall establish the Contract duration for the subject project. In no event shall the Time for Completion, which shall include the periods necessary for preparation and approval of the designs, exceed 24 months. The schedule supporting the proposed contract duration will be submitted with the Technical Proposal. It is expected that the Request for Proposals will be launched in October 2026.
Initial Selection will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s “
Procurement
Regulations for IPF Borrowers” February 2025 (“Procurement Regulations”)
and is open to all eligible Applicants as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
