INVITATION FOR PREQUALIFICATION
This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business on July 13, 2005 on-line and in DG Market.
The Government of the Republic of Angola has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Emergency Multisector Recovery Program # Phase 2, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Supply, Construction, Test and Completion of the Rehabilitation and Expansion of the Medium and Low Voltage Electrical Distribution System in the Three Cities of Angola (Uige, Luena and Kuito). The Ministry of Planning intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for contacts under ICB PW 001-003/ENE/2009. It is expected that invitations to bid will be made in October 2009.
Prequalification will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, published in May 2004, and revised October 2006, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information, and inspect the prequalification documents, from the Ministry of Planning at the address below during office hours 8:00am to 3:00pm. A complete set of prequalification documents in English may be purchased by interestedbidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of USD 200. The method of payment will be by cash or transfer to the account given below. The document will be sent by courier service.
