Team Leader / Fintech Platform Delivery (K-1) – Ethiopia

Aninver Development Partners SL (www.aninver.com) is looking for a Team Leader / Fintech Platform Delivery (K-1) for a consultancy assignment financed by Ignite Investment – AfDB-funded in Ethiopia.

Aninver Development Partners is preparing a competitive proposal for an upcoming AfDB-funded initiative in Ethiopia focused on strengthening digital financial infrastructure. The programme aims to bridge the financing gap for SMEs by enhancing digital investment channels, enabling secure transactions, and mobilizing capital effectively within the region through the enhancement of an equity crowdfunding platform.

We are currently seeking a qualified Team Leader / Fintech Platform Delivery (K-1) to lead the technical implementation and strategic delivery of the assignment. The ideal expert will coordinate closely with the project implementation unit, ensuring full alignment with international standards and successful platform enhancement over an expected implementation duration of up to 8 months.

Aninver is preparing a proposal for this assignment. The selected expert will be part of the proposed team; the engagement is conditional on the contract being awarded to Aninver. The full Terms of Reference for the position are shared with shortlisted candidates.

Objectives of the assignment

• Conduct a comprehensive technical assessment of the existing minimum viable product crowdfunding platform.
• Design and implement a scalable system architecture, cloud integration, server upgrades, and database optimization.
• Improve the front-end user interface and deploy advanced analytics capabilities.
• Integrate KYC/AML compliance features, secure payment gateways, and blockchain capabilities.
• Provide post-deployment support, system maintenance, and targeted capacity building and training workshops for local staff.

Scope of work

• Review the existing minimum viable product platform, identify architectural bottlenecks, and design a scalable system architecture and optimized database schema suitable for transaction-intensive financial platforms.
• Upgrade cloud infrastructure, server configurations, and front-end user interfaces to improve accessibility and performance for investors and entrepreneurs.
• Incorporate robust security protocols, KYC/AML compliance features, payment gateway systems, and blockchain integration components.
• Conduct rigorous system and security testing to ensure platform reliability under high-load conditions.
• Deploy the enhanced platform into a live production environment.
• Deliver comprehensive staff training workshops and post-deployment operational support.

Your role as Team Leader / Fintech Platform Delivery (K-1)

• Provide overall technical and managerial leadership for the fintech platform delivery assignment in Ethiopia.
• Coordinate closely with the project implementation unit and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely execution of all project milestones.
• Oversee the comprehensive technical assessment of the existing platform and guide architectural design improvements.
• Manage project resources, timelines, and deliverables in accordance with AfDB standards and guidelines.
• Supervise the integration of cloud infrastructure, server upgrades, secure payment gateways, and compliance features.
• Ensure rigorous system testing, successful live production deployment, and the execution of targeted capacity-building workshops.

Requirements

• Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field
• At least 8-10 years of experience delivering assignments of similar nature, complexity and magnitude, including crowdfunding, investment, capital market or diaspora platforms
• Proven project management competence (PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile/Scrum)
• Languages: Working proficiency in English

Desirable

• Prior work experience on AfDB-funded or donor-supported digital infrastructure projects in East Africa.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial technology deployment and SME financing platforms.

An experienced technical team leader and certified project manager with a strong background in delivering complex fintech, crowdfunding, or capital market platforms in developing markets.
