INVITATION FOR PREQUALIFICATION
DESIGN AND BUILT FOR REHABILITATION OF EXISTING TRANSMISSION MAIN AND CONSTRUCTION OF 50 KM OF TRANSMISSION MAIN DN 500 MM, PEMBA

This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business of 4th December 2015.
The Government of Mozambique has applied for financing from the World Bank towards the cost of development of the Water Supply and Institutional Support Project II (WASIS II), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract FIPAG/WASISII/W-02/15,for Design and Build of Pemba Transmission Main which is described in summary below:
(a)Elaboration of detailed design to construct 50 km of trunk main, 500 mmdiameter in ductile iron and rehabilitate 50 km of the existing transmission main, 450 mm, ductile iron, including all fittings and ancillary works and in accordance with the WASIS II safeguard documents and local legislation including the environmental and social safeguard´s framework;
(b)Rehabilitation and construction of 50 km of trunk main, including all fittings and ancillary works and inaccordance with the WASIS II safeguard documents and local legislation including the environmental and social safeguard´s framework.
The Fundo deInvestimento e Património do Abastecimento de Água (FIPAG) intends to prequalify contractors for Design and Build of Pemba Transmission Main. It is expected that invitation for bid will be made in March 2016.
Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, dated January 2011, revised July 2014, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document at FIPAG, address below, from 08:00 to 15:30 hr during the weekdays.
A complete set of prequalification documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to or personal attendance at, the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of 200 US$ (two hundred US dollars) or equivalent in Meticals.
The method of payment will be cash or direct deposit into one of the two FIPAG bank accounts: Millennium BIM, MZM account no. 8992580, NIB 000 100 000 000 899 258 057 or Millennium BIM Swift Code BIMOMZMXXXX,Banco ABC USD accounts no. 100108022028, NIB 001 300 010 010 802 202 829 or Banco ABC Swift Code FMBZMZMX. When requested, FIPAG will send the pre-qualification document and the Bidder should pay for it and any express courier charges.
Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address belowby 15:00 hrs local time on 4th February 2016 and clearly marked "Application to Prequalify for Design and Build ofTransmission Mains in Pemba, FIPAG/WASISII/W-02/15".
